Located in Largo, Florida between Tampa and St. Pete, the Armed Forces Military Museum has a random, life-sized replica of an Iraqi Freedom-era Saddam Hussein holding a Mars Bar. It was the late dictator’s favorite candy bar, according to a small label next to his hand. When Hussein was captured in December 2003, he was found with cans of Spam and Mars bars. Well, of course. The Mars Bar has not been sold in the United States since 2000, which is a damn shame because it is the best thing ever. I’d move back to the UK just to have my weekly sweet treats (actually more like daily). I guess I have something in common with Saddam. Who knew?
