I forgot I had that Google Analytics thingy, which may not have been installed properly until just recently. Besides learning most of you use Chrome and spend just a minute looking at my blog (but I spend hours on it!), last month’s stats also tell me most of you are from the United States. The rest come from Great Britain, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Singapore, Philippines, Germany, China and France. I feel bad for you Singaporeans (is that right?) as we haven’t spent any time there. Until now.
A museum that caught my eye (or my tooth) is the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum complex in the Chinatown district of Singapore. Opened in 2005 at a cost of $62 million, it is a replica of a temple from the Tang Dynasty that was built to house a real tooth of Buddha, supposedly found in a collapsed stupa in Myanmar 30 years ago. And the best part? Free vegetarian meals are served in the basement because that’s what Buddhists do. I wonder if it’s like the basement in the Alamo? I know you are, but what am I?
