I never remember being into PEZ as a kid, maybe because I was too lazy for that crap. But I think I’d still like to visit the Burlingame Museum of PEZ Memorabilia. In a small room at the back of an old computer store, there’s the World’s Largest PEZ Dispenser (7 ft. 10 in. and 85 pounds) as well as various vintage and new dispensers (some are for sale!), memorabilia (hence the museum’s name) and random old toys.
A history lesson: “Austrian candy executive Eduard Haas invented Pez candy in 1927. The original little candy bricks were peppermint. In fact, the word Pez is an abbreviation of the German word for peppermint (PfeffErminZ). Pez candy was originally sold in small tins. The first Pez dispenser appeared around 1950.”
