The Circus Circus Casino isn’t the only place in Nevada with a creepy clown sign. Halfway between Las Vegas and Reno is the “ghost town” of Tonopah, which although isn’t completely abandoned, is pretty close to it. Even the local cemetery has been closed for a hundred years, made up of wood and stone markers of the miners who once lived in this former Boom Town. And what’s next to this supposedly haunted old graveyard? Well, just a Clown Motel. No big deal.
I guess people who stay at Circus Circus won’t mind another place with a circus theme. After all, clowns on the doors, walls covered in clown paintings, and shelves full of clown dolls and collectibles is what most people want in a “no-tell motel”. Am I right? Like I said before…no big deal. But as someone who travels alone from time to time, I can’t help myself from freaking out thinking about this place. A motel decorated with clown dolls in the middle of the desert with a view of a derelict collection of century-old graves?!? No…big…deal.
