There’s Groundhog Day, and then there’s Groundfrog Day. Yep, you read that right. Instead of a groundhog telling you whether or not there will be six more weeks of winter, a bullfrog known as the Snohomish Slew croaks his annual weather forecast for the Pacific Northwest in Snohomish, a small town not far from Seattle. Will there be six more weeks of soggy and wet, or six more weeks of wet and soggy? Unlike Punxsutawney Phil, the frog usually has better luck at predicting Washington State’s weather forecast (or should I call it frogcast?). I mean, how hard is it to figure out if a rainy place is going to be rainier? Anyway, the annual ceremony was held this past Saturday, and at approximately 12:05 p.m. Snohomish Slew, Frognosticator Extraordinaire, proclaimed that there will be an early spring. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if the little guy is correct.
