Like every 80’s child forced to sit in front of a television with a VHS of some random Disney film while my single parent mom worked three jobs, I remember watching 101 Dalmatians. Even though I didn’t watch that shit as much as The Three Caballeros and Lady and the Tramp that doesn’t mean I am going to start a Disney collection anytime soon. If anything, I’d run as far away as humanly possible if I found myself near a Disney theme park. But something tells me this isn’t true of Karen Ferrier, who has collected WAY MORE than 101 items since 1992. The exact figure? 3,500 items…or so. It all started because of Ditto, her Dalmatian puppy and not an obsession with the Disney film. The house full of black and white dotted mugs, magnets, clothing, jewelry, ornaments, puzzles, suitcases, toilet paper, roller blades and even a Dalmatian Smart Car was too much for Karen’s husband, who divorced her. Because of the split, Karen was forced to sell her collection, which was worth a few thousand dollars. No word on exactly what happened to it.
