I’d like to say a fond farewell to the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas. I hardly knew ya. It will close in less than a month (October 17th to be exact). Even though I did not visit it when I went to Vegas last year, I came to the conclusion that museums barely exist in this town for various reasons: a. Who goes to Vegas for cultural experiences that require brain power and reading skills? b. Vegas is all about making money and a number of museums have closed in the past for not bringing in the cash c. Liberace represents old Vegas and this town isn’t really into preserving its past (Sands Hotel, anyone?) so good-bye to Liberace. You will be missed…apparently.
