This next museum might blow you away, like, literally. Chicago might be called the Windy City, but the seaport city of Trieste actually deserves the title. Although the city is well known for its history and gorgeous architecture, Trieste is also affected by a chilly north-easterly wind called Bora, which can last for several days and reach speeds of up to 200 km/h (or 124 mph). The wind and the city are so connected that a museum, the Museo della Bora (of course it has a Facebook) opened to tell the story of the famous Bora. Visitors can see a collection of images, songs, poems, books, art, and other oddities that pay tribute to the notorious wind. The famous Bora ropes that help people from blowing away are also on display. I guess the song “Blowin’ in the Wind” isn’t just a protest song, it’s the real thing.
