I wanted to find a museum with a beautiful name and I think I found it with the Museum of Enduring Beauty in Melaka, Malaysia. Beautification started in the Medieval Ages and continues to this day. The museum was created in 1996 to bring “awareness of the different viewpoints held by different cultures and different periods of time on what constitutes ‘beauty’”. The beautiful concepts include skin tattooing, piercing, neck and lip stretching, head molding and foot binding. Unfortunately, American obsessions like botox, fake nails and breast implants didn’t make the cut.
