The Museum of Wildlife, Industry and Science in Webster, South Dakota has a shoe collection housed in a special building. What makes it so special? Well, as you can see from the above photo it resembles a shoe that no one in the real world or with the right mind would possibly wear. At least there’s windows near the toes, you know, so they can air out a bit.
Considering this town has barely 2,000 people I am shocked to find out they have more than one museum, but Tom Brokaw was born here so that’s probably why. Or not. Actually they should have three museums. Tom Brokaw Birthplace and Museum: Your Future is Now.
There’s probably better Shoe Museums out there (the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto and the one at Temple University come to mind) but how many of them have shoelaces on their roofs? Yep, that’s right, baby. Only one.
