If I had to write a top five list of places in Europe I must see before I die, this next city would definitely be on it. Luckily, Julia, also known as adventuresinparadise, doesn’t mind paying the 18.50 Euro to go inside her favourite local tourist destination in order to share her experience in this next guest post:
I live in Barcelona and go periodically to the Sagrada Familia Cathedral by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, mostly with out-of-towners. It is an enjoyable experience every single time and my favorite part to take guests to, besides the basilica, of course, is the museum and workshop underneath the Cathedral. There is the workshop were artisans fabricate the sculptures used in the cathedral’s continued construction as well as numerous prints, models, drawings, and small installations. The best installation, in my opinion, is the network of sandbags suspended that demonstrate how Gaudí used the natural form of objects suspended by gravity to inspire his divine creations.
