Considering the great number of “spam” followers and likes I’ve been receiving lately, I thought it would only be appropriate to post something on the SPAM Museum. Located at the Hormel headquarters in Austin, Minnesota, the museum is dedicated to everything mystery meat…from a towering wall of 3,390 SPAM cans to a mock canning assembly line. There’s a theater, radio station, a mock supermarket and a detailed display on the evolution of SPAM. The “Global SPAM” exhibit uses a blinking map to show the meat’s reach, which now numbers 41 countries. Probably because you don’t have to refrigerate it; you just stick it in a closet for 7 or 8 years. Don’t worry…the Monty Python cast can be heard singing “The SPAM Song” through a loudspeaker over and over again. I’m getting sick just writing about this place.
