Paul Bunyan is a mythological lumberjack who somehow got his own REAL holiday every June 28. Statues of Paul and Babe the Blue Ox are all over the place from Bemidji, Minnesota (I hope I bump into Frances McDormand and Steve Buscemi if I ever make my way up there) and Bangor, Maine to Westwood, California and St. Ignace, Michigan. Hackensack, Minnesota is the home of Lucette, Paul Bunyan’s baby mama and their son, Paul Jr. Basically, if you want to take a road trip across America, there’s a good chance a random roadside attraction related to Paul Bunyan will pass you by, including a Mexican one. If you don’t believe me, here’s a list of Bunyan statues.
