The Banana Museum in Auburn, Washington teaches you about the history behind the banana. People used to eat them whole, as they weren’t aware that they had to be peeled. The average American eats about 26 pounds of bananas every year – that’s about 150 bananas! Also, bananas were introduced to the American public at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition, the same expo that also introduced the telephone. So there’s a real connection between the banana and the phone!
